We saw it coming. They didn't, but we did. The idiot humans were always destroying our lives, ruining everything with one touch. Yet, we remained loyal to them, loved them, even respected them. We followed them into their own destruction, sacrificing ourselves so they could live. But we all knew it would happen. It was only a matter of time before they died from their own hands. It took patience and acceptance on our part. Some dogs were shocked, some were so depressed they died. Others were ecstatic, happy to finally own the world as ours.
